設置の目的・事業

　本研究所は、地域、社会、福祉、国際文化、国際共生及びその他の人文社会系に関する総合的学術研究並びに国際的研究交流を推進し、これらの分野における学術研究の向上に寄与するとともに研究成果の社会還元を図ることを目的としています。
　これらの目的を達成するために次の事業を行います。

（1）地域、社会、福祉、国際文化、国際共生及びその他の人文社会系に関する研究・調査
（2）紀要及び叢書の刊行
（3）研究セミナー、公開講座及び講演会等の開催
（4）社会福祉の増進等地域社会に対する技術協力及び専門的援助・技術指導
（5）地域、社会、福祉、国際文化、国際共生及びその他の人文社会系に関する資料の収集及び整理
（6）国内外の大学及び研究機関との交流
（7）その他前条の目的を遂行するために必要な事業

Message from the Director

Today we are now living in an era of unprecedented historic change. The rapid progress of science and technology and the advancement of globalization have brought about major changes in the state of life and society in a positive way, but also caused a variety of challenging problems at both local and global levels, including climate change, religious and ethnic conflicts, terrorism, poverty and inequality, to name a few. Since many of these problems are attributable to a complex interplay of various factors, it is extremely difficult to solve them using only one of the existing academic fields of study. The Research Institute of International Society and Culture is the organization to promote and support research that appropriately combines various academic disciplines to solve the problems we face and open up a new future.
